De Spiraal's die springs are designed to absorb high loads in limited installation spaces. They offer a solution for applications in, among others, the automotive sector, aerospace and mechanical engineering. Our die springs are available
Die springs are extra-heavy-duty compression springs, manufactured from rectangular wire rather than round wire. This design enables them to absorb considerable forces within a compact installation size. Die springs occupy a specific niche within our range of industrial springs: where a standard compression spring falls short in terms of load capacity or space, the die spring offers the solution.
De Spiraal manufactures die springs from high-quality chrome-vanadium spring steel (50CrV4 / SAE 6150). This material guarantees a long service life and consistent spring force, even under intensive and repetitive use. Our die springs are supplied in accordance with ISO standards and DIN 2093, with the familiar colour coding for each force class (Green, Blue, Red and Yellow).
Die springs are widely used in mechanical engineering, mould making and punching technology, where high cyclic loads and compact installation dimensions are required. We also use die springs in the agricultural and energy sectors for heavy, repetitive movements under load.
Thanks to their robust construction and high-quality spring steel, our die springs deliver reliable performance, even during prolonged use and high cycle counts. For applications that deviate from the standard designs, the die spring also falls within our category of special springs, where customisation and specific geometries are key.
Die springs are designed to withstand extreme forces in a compact installation space. The use of rectangular wire allows for a higher force build-up than is possible with round compression springs. This makes them suitable for critical applications in die sets, molds, and heavy machinery.
We manufacture each die spring to withstand intensive, repetitive load cycles. For accurate selection and safe use, we apply the following system:
The performance of a die spring at high frequencies hinges on the material selection. We exclusively use alloys that are resistant to fatigue and stress relaxation:
Type: Chromium-vanadium
Material Number: 50CrV4
Characteristics: Known for its high fatigue limit and long service life under high load
Type: Coated spring steel
Material Number: Colored coating (green, blue, red, and yellow)
Characteristics: The coating indicates force and offers protection against environmental factors
Die springs are available in accordance with ISO 10243 and the American standard. Do you need a different size? We are happy to help you find the best solution.
